These works are part of an ongoing photographic series exploring the relationship between the kinetic body and its surroundings. The body has long been the focus of my work and I find the trained body and modern architecture fascinating counterparts, each unyielding, severe, and rigorously functional in form. Created primarily from found photographs, these collages consider the role we play in our environment and how deeply our surroundings inform the cadence of our lives. By studying texture, light, and form, I ex amine the possibilities and limits of pictorial abstraction and metamorphosis.
