This fine catalogue from the University of Salamanca features the photographs of Roy Arden, focusing on two of his most recent bodies of work, Landscape of the Economy, and Terminal City. Taking its title from the distinction of Vancouver as the end of the trans-Canadian railway line, both bodies of work are a look from the bottom up. Consciously striving to depict the effects of modern market economies on the daily living of the common man, these photographs display the details of a gritty, depressed, inner-city landscape.
