The series Folded in Place turns the abstract representation of the map back into a physical landscape, by using photography to look at the map as a geography of its own.
These photographs, using the traits of landscape photography in conjunction with still life, explore place though a visualization of the map as the final destination. The images result from the completion of small-scale constructions that use the line, color, and forms of the maps to explore the abstraction of place. The photographs are taken using a similar sense of vantage point as would be seen in landscape photography, yet in this case, the place documented is the abstracted form of the mapped lands.
