Falling From Grace…

Making a portrait allows me to stare, to describe, and to represent an interaction. My pictures are about expectations and uncertainty in relationships. The images speak to issues of connections and trust. In this series of studio portraits, the models hold different kinds of food. Seen together the images present a feast. Despite a forthright appearance, the pictures suggest a tension. The viewer is not clear if the feast is being offered or withheld. These portraits connect and disengage simultaneously, proposing a precarious intimacy.
